COGS and PSG are co-hosting a bowling night on September 20th in Goldy's game room between 5 PM and 8 PM. We will have FREE pizza and pop. Please bring your family along. We are also opening up the pool tables and other games in the game room for you all.

We hope to see all the graduate and professional students there!

First COGS Happy Hour is on September 27th at the Corner Bar (1501 S Washington Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55454) from 4 PM to 6 PM. Come spend some good times with colleagues and meet new grad students while enjoying some tasty brews and appetizers.

As always, it is buy your own beer but COGS will buy the appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages.

Humpday Sugar Rush!

You must have heard of COGS' donut and coffee networking hours on both campuses, if you are a UMN graduate student. We do it monthly and on both Twin Cities campuses. For us, both twins are equal. We all deserve to take a break, spike our blood glucose in the middle of the week. Come with friends and colleagues, bring your own mug if you have one on you!

COGS Leadership Awards Ceremony

COGS solicited nominations for excellence in Teaching, Leadership and Advising. Based on students nominating and advocating for candidates, the COGS review team has chosen winners. Every year, COGS elects its Executive Committee during the last General Assembly for that academic year. Elections to all positions except COGS Representative to the Board of Regents will take place during our upcoming General Assembly. Please find position descriptions sent to your email. COGS is collaborating with our peers, PSG (Professional Student Government), to discuss sexual misconduct policies specific to Graduate and Professional students at the University. All graduate and professional students are welcome to contribute to this discussion. The Director for the Aurora Center (Katie Eichele), Director for office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action, EOAA (Tina Marisam), and the Co-Chair of PIPSM, President's Initiative to Prevent Sexual Misconduct (Karen Miksch) are going to be a part of these discussions as well.
